Introduction:
Here, you will find a variety of work I've produced and published. You'll also find several works-in-progress as I continue to evolve and experiment with all the tools of creativity the web and the programmers who give them life have to offer.
Background and philosophy:
My first real taste of the expansive nature of the web, in all its glory and annoyance, began when I launched an online news website called Tech Gen Mag with childhood friend Brad Bailey. As the founder and editor-in-chief, I was thrust into a dizzying world of html, css, servers, hosting, online advertising and the storm and stress involved in churning out articles on a daily basis. After two years, the site peaked with nearly six full-time writers and a smattering of part-timers. Although I enjoyed the thrill of running a "click-bait" site (I did the best I could to maintain its integrity), I soon grew tired of the online daily grind and so I decided to move on.
My goal is to anticipate and be at the fore front of the next wave of digital innovation. As a high school English teacher, I have the privilege of observing first-hand how newer generations of youth embrace and shape the latest digital trends. Based on these observations, the future is the seamless integration of real-time multi-media and immersive virtual experiences. And I intend to participate in their evolution, in whatever way possible.
